Here's what it was really like to do interviews with ZAZ for the Airplane! book

At this point, I think everyone knows of my love of Airplane! and how much fun it was to be able to help David Zucker, Jim Abrahams, and Jerry Zucker by doing the interviews for Surely You Can’t Be Serious: The True Story of AIRPLANE! But when I was originally interviewing the boys for the book, we didn’t know what the format was going to be, so all of the original conversations that I submitted to them were done in traditional Q&A form. I’ve been trying to figure out something to do for paid subscribers, since I really need to make it more worthwhile to actually be a paid subscriber, so how’s this? It’s a full transcript of one of the calls I did with David and Jim. I don’t know where Jerry was, but I know he was working on a Broadway musical at the time (one that I don’t think came to fruition because of COVID), so it was probably busy with that. Anyway, you can still get a feel for what the back and forth was like between us and between them.
