Since starting this Substack newsletter, I realize that it’s evolved considerably, going through stages where it consisted almost entirely of previously-unpublished material, followed by a number of new and exclusive interviews, plus a number of random post types, including the “Ten For” feature, the recurring “Something Streaming This Way Comes” pieces and, lest we forget, “Pilot Error.”
Of late, however, I must admit that I’m having the most fun with this Zoom interview feature called “Just a Couple of Characters.” Indeed, I’m having so much fun with it that I’m also trying to start making it available in podcast form as well, since several people have asked for that.
I’d really like to continue doing more of these “Just a Couple of Characters” interviews, and it must be said that I currently have as many pairings in the works as there are existing episodes…and when I say they’re in the works, I mean that the pairs in question have ostensibly said “yes” and we’re just waiting for the scheduling to work out. Some of them I’ve teased on social media, some of them I haven’t, but here’s hoping for your sake and for mine that they all come to pass eventually.
As such, I’m putting together this post for only one reason, really, and that’s to ask you to share it on social media. I feel like I’ve gotten as many shares out of these videos as I can, and while I don’t really comprehend the algorithms of Facebook, Twitter, and the like, I get the impression that other people can get more mileage out of sharing them than I can, so…please share this post. Please/ I’ll be your best friend.*
*Not a binding contract
Also, if you’re not currently a paid subscriber, it wouldn’t kill me if you became one, mostly because there actually is a slight overhead when it comes to doing this feature, i.e. paying for a monthly subscription to Zoom so that I can have more than two people on a call and have it last as long as these episodes tend to go. In other words, not only would I appreciate the support, but you’d literally be helping me continue this feature. And if it helps sway you, I’ll even clean my office…
With that, here’s the post. Share away!

Two charming fellows with each their own very distinct flavour.
(Episode #7, John Billingsley and Robert Picardo).
Delightful in their stories, and to see how they obviously enjoy the other's company.
Interesting/bittersweet take from RP about how it felt to be the 'old school' series packing up while the newest Trek iteration moved in...
You did well to let the momentum take over. ;-)
