So this is pretty cool: earlier today, Daniel Roebuck dropped me an email, which - upon my reply - resulted in our first phone call since the epic conversation that was belatedly published as a three-part interview here on THAT THING THEY DID.
In case you missed it or just want to revisit it, allow me to offer up all three links…
Part One
Part Two
Part Three
Dan is about as great as they come, a super nice fellow, and as a result of our reconnection, he’s 100% up for making readers’ dreams come true by doing a sequel. Will it be as long? I mean, the guy likes to talk and I like to listen, so…maybe? But because he’s also supportive of my endeavors here, he’s also offering up something for those of you who’ve been kind enough to sign up for paid subscriptions, and he’s hoping that it’ll serve as an incentive for others to join you in the paid-subscription column.
First of all, anyone and everyone is encouraged to submit question(s) for Dan in the Comments section. They can be specific questions, or if there’s just some project he’s worked on or individual he’s worked with that you’d just generally like to hear more about, then you can just say so.
Now here’s the cool bit:
Dan said, “When you ask them [for questions], tell them that you will randomly pick three of them, and those three will get a phone call from me, and I’ll tell them personally about the thing they asked about.”
How cool is that?
So get your questions ready…and if you want to have a chance of having Dan answer your question personally, sign up for a paid subscription!
Ok, I’ll ask a THIRD question, hoping I’LL GET MY CALL (since I’m the only one who commented):
Do you dread being clean-shaven for a role, or is it just the life of an actor?
(Unless you’re David Niven, even Vincent Price and Omar Sharif shaved for the right role)
I hope I’m still in the running for the Daniel Roebuck phone call, but just in case, I’ll include an “acting-specific” question: Did you ever have a chance to speak to either Jay Leno or David Letterman about your performance in the just-wonderful HBO picture “The Late Show”?
