So this is pretty cool: earlier today, Daniel Roebuck dropped me an email, which - upon my reply - resulted in our first phone call since the epic conversation that was belatedly published as a three-part interview here on THAT THING THEY DID.
Let him know I’m from Scranton but has lived in the Lehigh Valley for 10 years (2012- current, in Bethlehem from 2012-2021), and my wife has lived here since 1987. I just went to “The Cup” wit my son last night (he’ll know what I mean)
I hope I’m still in the running for the Daniel Roebuck phone call, but just in case, I’ll include an “acting-specific” question: Did you ever have a chance to speak to either Jay Leno or David Letterman about your performance in the just-wonderful HBO picture “The Late Show”?
1) Would you call my wife (A fellow Bethlehem Catholic alum) and talk to her about BECA and fun stuff in Bethlehem? Being a Scranton, PA native myself, I always say that Scranton can lay claim to the President, but Bethlehem has Daniel Roebuck (and Jonathan Frakes), and they’re cooler!
2) Would you PLEASE be a guest on Gilbert Gottfried’s Amazing Colossal Podcast? Gilbert and his co-host Frank Santopadre are HUGE Universal horror/monster fans like yourself, and they LOVE character actors like you. You’d be the perfect guest! Will can vouch for that (and he might have an “in” with getting you on)

Do you dread being clean-shaven for a role, or is it just the life of an actor?
